Fierce Blackness

My post on the lack of women of color on the runway really hit a nerve with me and inspired me to want to be a vessel of change. When I first started this blog, my intention was to focus on everything fashion. In my opinion, fashion is so much more than the clothes and shoes that you are wearing. Fashion to me is your clothes, shoes, accessories, makeup, and nail polish all these things come together and form what I call the "complete look". As well as discuss any fashion news that may spark my interest. I did not want to put any limitations on myself.

During the research for that post I really became inspired because I realized that there is so much that I do not know about the role of many black people in the fashion industry. I wanted to be able to educate myself as well as others. I am starting a new blog because I feel that African Americans in fashion are unconquered territory. I also noticed that most blogs that do focus on black people and fashion concentrate mostly on urban wear. I personally do not wear urban wear and neither does any of any of my friends so where does that leave the high fashion brothers and sisters? At my new blog Fierce Blackness. So, check it out. Do not worry I will still be maintaining Fashion Devotee. I just have two blogs with different purposes but I am doing them both out of my love for fashion.
